With the way a child interacts with the family and the community, contributes to the development of a child. To improve children’s health and quality of life, the goal is to help feed, educate and care for vulnerable kids and their mothers. Education, Care and Health are the basic landmarks for enabling a ‘Robust Childhood’
Making Early Childhood Education a Priority—
Preschool education yields greater returns than any other form of education. In terms of scale, the network and vision established by India’s, “Integrated Child Development Scheme” [ICDS], is admirable. Launched in 1975, ICDS has expanded from just 33 UNICEF-funded programs to a network of about 1.4 million ‘Anganwadi Centers’ [Government Schools], providing a package of health and preschool services to 10 crore beneficiaries. This network is by far the largest in the world. But what it lacks is the quality of service delivery, especially with respect to early childhood care and education. ICDS programs shape kids early experience.
Inside India’s Ambitious Effort to provide early care and education to over 400 million kids……investing in little kids is a cost- effective way to tackle inequality and raise a generation of healthier kids. Thanks to this massive network of centers, Integrated Child Development Scheme has an impressive reach!!! The preschool curriculum in Anganwadi centers is outlined in the ministry’s “National Curriculum Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education”. These Anganwadi programs include caring for women and children, educate the community and collect health and nutrition data.
Well, then how to educate our community, maintain good health with the right Nutrition and Care —-by acquiring help from our NGO – ‘EKAM FOUNDATION’.
