“Movement towards holistic health care Of children”
Thank you, youth & patrons of Ekam USA –
You have reached out across the seas and touched thousands of lives in the remotest corners of Tamilnadu and her hundreds of hamlets and villages.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. You are an inspiration to many.
Because of your benevolence…
Team Ekam works across the 32 diverse districts of Tamil Nadu spread across its vast spread of beautiful and yet challenging terrains.
Picturesquely and poetically defined by the ancient Tamils in the Sangam period, the arid plains, called ‘Paalai’,The hilly or mountainous regions or ‘Kurunji’, the fertile plains or ‘Marudham’, the forested areas or ‘Mullai’ and the coastal areas or ‘Neidhal’… 32 districts across hills and dales, parched lands and floods, dense forest and vast fields.
TamilNadu has it all – and in this rich diversity lies its beauty and challenges.
Its many people and cultures, the major segment of rural population that lives in stark contrast to its urban neighbours and industrial or new-age tech hubs, the many local cultures and warmth that has brought in migrants – all add to the breadth and depth of its bounty – and, sadly, it’s tremendously unique needs – in health, education, nutrition, water, sanitation, hygiene, homes and livelihood.
Just basic requirements for a healthy, happy life.
Simple needs that are simply not there in equal measure, across all demographic divides.
Every day, the Ekam team encounters situations that test their capacity and skills and gives the moments of pride and pathos, smiles and tears, frustration and profound joy. It is this human component and humane drive that propels the team along in their endeavor to save children, heal mothers, help adolescents and create a self-motivated, health seeking community where families put wellness first. And the community comes forward to take ownership – from “I” and “me”, to “us” and “we”. Though direct medical support, facility management, analyzing and bridging need-gaps, and capacity building – supplementing and complementing the public health system of this vast State.
To complete the continuum of care, Ekam in its model state is piloting the community wellbeing and governance initiative by bring together action, strategy, mentorship, empowerment and self-sustainability towards autonomy set within a governance framework.
Happiness, health and wealth are a by-product of this new self-governance.
This wellness and governance initiative requires the benevolence and patience of the large-hearted and farsighted. Ekam USA has come forward to back this dream. The marvel of this initiative is the energy of out Ekam Youth Ambassadors of America and their mentors, the grand-ambassadors who spare no effort to raise awareness and funds in order that our team on the field can deliver on the Ekam promise – of health and wellbeing for the most deserving.
Thank you, Ekam USA – for believing in this visionary project and backing it unquestioningly.
Team TN is proud to present to you, the fruits of your vision and implicit trust in us.

Kitchen Garden in ICDS Centre & Schools:
You can never completely trust the fruits and vegetables that you purchase from the market. Can you? Fruits and vegetables which are bought from the shops contain various chemicals which are not good for our health and lead to many diseases. It is advisable to avoid such vegetables and fruits and instead opt for organically grown ones. You can consider going organic by growing them at home. By keeping this in my mind in July 18 we set up Kitchen Garden in 43 places in 18 districts across Tamil Nadu.
