Women, infant and children, who represent more than two-thirds of our country’s total population, constitute the most important target groups in the context of the present-day developmental plan. Therefore, their concerns are first on the priority list of the country’s developmental agenda. They have the strength and support of the Organisation.
Importance of women’s empowerment in societies—
Empowerment is one of the main concerns when addressing human rights and development. Women’s empowerment and achieving gender equality are essential for our community to ensure the sustainable development of the country.
Here are a few ways that can make a difference in the lives of mothers around the world —right in our neighbourhoods.
Providing education—Girls in poor communities often miss school because of a lack of clean water in their village. Instead of attending the classes, thousands of girls and women around the world spend their time fetching water that is often dirty and dangerous to their health. Therefore, help needs to reach them, to open the door to education.
Serving– the girls and women in clutch—Millions of our girls are subjected to child labour, trafficking, child marriage, and other types of abuse. Therefore, it’s required to protect women and girls by equipping skilled, local staff to offer training, counselling, medical care and other programs that reach women and girls — helping to end cycles of gender-based violence.
Preventing maternal and infant mortality—Incredible progress has been made over the last several decades, but still, around 3 million infants die in the first week [every year], and about 1 million die on their very first day of life. More than 3,00,000 women die every year due to complications, happening during pregnancy or childbirth, and more than 25,000 children die every day, mostly from preventable and treatable causes such as malaria, pneumonia and diarrhoea. Help is needed to implement a more efficient, sustainable approach for saving the lives of mothers and children.
Assisting a New Mom—The first week of a newborn’s life are the most critical periods. We can help save young lives by giving the new mothers, the essential things needed for a safe and clean living for both.
To achieve our goal, let’s get help from the expert team “EKAM” Foundation. EKAM helps Empower communities and guide their decision making. It recognizes the health, hygiene, nutrition, education and development of mothers and children–efforts are targeted for them at all stages. EKAM works towards helping children and mothers to not only survive but also live happily in a thriving environment. The Interventions, therefore, involve public health bodies, private hospitals, corporate groups, health professionals and our community.
