A young and brilliant pediatrician, Dr. Sailakshmi Balijepally has received national and international awards and recognition for her selfless and dedicated services to underprivileged mothers, children and families.

Overflowing with maternal emotion and doctorly compassion, Dr Sailakshmi, a pediatrician by training saw the need for unconditional healthcare support for the mothers and children in our country. Her journey started with pre-natal and neo-natal care and expanded into many related areas.

EKAM’s Journey!

Since the day it was founded, EKAM has come a long way due to its commitment to its core purpose. Over the last several years EKAM has worked with closely with many governmental and private organisations to create ground-level impact in many key areas of maternal, child and community health through the following types of endeavours:

  • Early identification and diagnosis of diseases among children to reduce preventable deaths.
  • Facilitate secondary and tertiary care for children who are unable to afford further treatment.
  • Support Sick Newborn Care Units with manpower and equipment maintenance.
  • Upgrade government healthcare facilities.
  • Train and build capabilities of healthcare workers and community health volunteers.
